THREE LETTERS
by Chuol Dieng, July 2005

Dear CALBOS leaders,

We are enjoying a happy and prosperous new year 2005 and an agreement was signed in Naivasha to end a 21 year war in southern Sudan which may roll into freedom for ourselves. It is of great interests and pleasure for me and for others sowing to reap the product of his/her achievement. I would like to give my personal thanks to those who organized and help the Lost Boys Association in Chicago and elsewhere. Thanks to the leaders who have been struggling in their circumstances and who successfully endured such a critical condition, which in itself is much effort. I can only encourage you to peruse and make use of what you have learned in a positive and constructive manner for Southern Sudan.

Dear Lost Boys,

Education is the only solution for our problems. Do you know why education is the master key for our nation? The reason is that the world development depends upon educated people and also economic rate per population rate; however, my dear brothers and sisters, every nation bears in account that we are so rich in natural resources, however we could not utilize and reserve them properly. Do you know why? Because of education and economy. To those who do not know how to solve the problem, you can show him how to solve the problem and how to command. When you go to bed with a clear head you will never have a headache.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Thousand of people are dead because of the fighting between one another and others have become disabled. Kindly eliminate any matters, which may cause problems among us. Finally, I would like to share my opinion of solutions to some of these problems: 1. Let us stop fighting one another 2. Let us change weapons to productive machines and equipments. 3. Let us take the initiative and lead ourselves into education and technology. I wish all of you success in your future career.

Thanks,
